Brixton Domino Club’s annual awards ceremony took place in Lambeth town hall, emphasising its central role in the community.

Local MP Helen Hayes, whose Dulwich and West Norwood constituency includes the club’s Coldharbour lane headquarters, joined Sonia Winifred, Lambeth council cabinet member for equalities and culture, in recognising its historical significance and welcoming its plans for the future.

Helen Hayes who is today (10 February) taking part in a House of Commons debate on the government’s Windrush Compensation Bill, told club members and supporters that dominoes is “an important and fundamental part of the heritage of this area”.
